I realized the other day that I had not blogged about my 2017 goals. It’s shocking to me because I love writing my post about goals!
Goals are super motivating to me. As a result, I write goals for my day to day life, work, fitness, running, and every other facet of my life. I really love having goals!
Just like I said last year, I am taking a different approach to my goals this year. 2017 is about me! In 2012 I took the same approach, I focused on myself and had an amazing year achieving my goals. It is my hope that it will work again in 2017!
Goal 1: Meditate daily
I have tried meditating several times prior to this. However, I could never make it a daily routine. I meditation to become a routine. In fact, I would like to get to a point where I meditate twice a day, once in the morning and once before bed. I have been meditating before bed and I am finding I fall asleep faster because I am not dwelling on everything running through my head.
Goal 2: Get at least 7 hours of sleep each night
Since my accident sleep is hard for me. I struggle to follow asleep (hence Goal 1) and stay asleep. Then add the fact that I get up at 4am to work out and it makes for a tired, emotional girl. As I mentioned in my Taking Control blog post I am working hard on creating a schedule and bedtime routine. To help solidify the routine I am making it a goal!
Goal 3: Work out 6 days a week
Between running, biking, swimming, and Farrell’s Extreme Bodyshaping this goal shouldn’t be too hard at all. In fact, Farrall’s alone is a six day a week program. However, I would like to do some duathlons and triathlons this summer but I don’t want to over train. I know there will be days with two a days but my goal is not to over stress my body. I will figure out the right mix of each as the year goes on.
Goal 4: Drink more water
I think everyone has this goal every year! However, I NEED to drink more water. I used to be so good at it but it’s something that has fallen off. I am shooting for at least two liters of water a day!
Goal 5: Do yoga at least once a week
I started doing yoga in 2016. I was shocked when I ended up really enjoying it. Now, I want to make it part of my weekly routine. I think it will go very well with the daily mediation I have planned.
Goal 6: Blog at least twice a week
In 2016, I didn’t blog as much as I would have liked to. Blogging is like therapy to me so doing it on a regular basis is extremely helpful emotionally. I think blogging twice a week is the right amount for me!
Goal 7: Save a $1 for every mile I run in 2016
This goal is rolling over from 2016! I enjoyed it so much that I have to do it again this year. I don’t have a mileage goal this year so I don’t know how much money I will save but I am excited to find out!
I LOVE goals and my 2017 goals make me excited. 2017 is the year of the comeback! I am planning on coming back stronger than I was and these goals are going to help me achieve that!
Do you create yearly goals? What is one of your 2017 goals? How are your 2017 goals going?
