I ran my first Esprit de She race in 2013 in Maple Grove. I was so happy to do that race because it was the first time I got to run in my home town (or place of residence). It is not often that there are races in Maple Grove, then on top of it a women’s only race. The course was great and ambiance was amazing, it sold me on the series.
This year I ran three of the races, Edina, MN, Chicago, IL, and Maple Grove, MN. They were all amazing, but Chicago and Maple Grove probably tie as the two best races I did this year. Chicago because the route was so AWESOME! I loved running along Lake Michigan, it was so empowering. Maple Grove rates high because in 2013 I PR’d the race, this year I did not but I cut over three minutes off my time from the year prior. I was upset after the race because I didn’t PR but when I got home and looked at my previous years’ time, I was elated with the improvement.
