It’s funny how something as small as a hashtag can change your perspective.
When the Limits Started
I have felt so limited over the last two years. My fall changed everything. I was on top of the world before the fall. Or at least I thought I was. I was running the best I ever had, we were getting married in six months, and I had big plans for 2016. Then February 2, 2016, happened and it all changed.
Everything I knew was gone! I couldn’t think, I could hardly carry on a conversation, and I definitely couldn’t drive. So obviously I couldn’t do the things that brought me joy like being active, running races, or blogging. To say I was limited would be an understatement.
Being limited just became my way of life. I was limited at work because my brain didn’t work the way it had. I couldn’t do too much physical activity because my body couldn’t handle it. Blogging was extremely hard because after a day of work my eyes were shot from looking at a computer screen all day.
No matter what I tried nothing worked. So I lived in my box. My little-limited box got really comfortable.
When the Limits Started to Melt Away
In November something small changed. I still don’t know what it is but I was different one day. The little-limited box that was so comfortable was growing uncomfortable. But not uncomfortable enough for me to do anything about it. Or so I thought.
I went on with my life. Along the way, I decided I should start a Twin Cities Sweat Pink chapter. I love the Sweat Pink community! I really wanted to bring that to others! What I love is that it is an amazing community of people who share a passion for sweat and fun. It includes fitness professions, health coaches, nutritionists, bloggers, and social media influencers. It an amazingly diverse group who always has your back. Who wouldn’t want to be part of a group like that? So, I interviewed with Erica from Fit Approach to see if I was a fit as a chapter leader. Erica thought I would be a great chapter leader so that was the start of Sweat Pink Twin Cities.
After that, something told me to reevaluate things. I stepped away from a lot of things to think about how I would make my new world work for me. I realized it was time to open up and tell everyone how I had been feeling. It was amazing how freeing it was to let it go (go ahead and sign the song here)!
When I Realized #IAmLimitless
And then on December 26, I got an email from Fit Approach asking if I wanted to help with the #IAmLimitless movement. I initially thought no I can’t do this my body won’t allow me to do it. And then I thought how interesting that I wanted to turn down the opportunity to be part of the something called #IAmLimitless. Can you say putting a limit on yourself? So, I responded yes and embraced everything that has come with it.
And then my little-limited box got so uncomfortable that it busted at the seems. I realized I couldn’t let myself be limited any longer.
I am doing things in the Fit Approach and Gixo #IAmLimitless movement that I have done since February 1, 2016. Every day I am pushing myself. My body is accepting me pushing myself. I have wondered why I continued to limit myself when I see such amazing things happening.
Guess what I realized I really am limitless! This movement has given me a whole new outlook! It is so exciting! This movement may come and go on social media but I plan on living from here on out!
I invite you to join the movement! In fact, I recommend you join the movement! Don’t be like I used to be and put yourself in a little-limited box! Be Limitless! I finally know #IamLimitless! You can be too!
Have you heard about the #IAmLimitless movement? Have you joined the #IAmLimitless movement? Are you limitless? Have you always known you were limitless?
