It dawned on me after I wrote my last post that some of you may not know how Weight Watchers works. So I am going to give a quick overview so everyone understands what I am talking about when I talk about points, daily points, weekly points, & activity points.
What I like about Weight Watchers is that there are no food off limits, and as long as you account for it you can have it. It is more about portions and planning, which is very doable. When you weigh in the first time you are given a daily points allotment. You get to decide how you want to use the points. There are several factors that go into calculating how many points a person gets. They are height, weight, age, and gender.
The lowest amount of points a person can get is 26 and it goes up from there. Food points are calculated through an algorithm that considers the fat, carbohydrates, fiber, and protein. However, even though fruits and vegetables have some of those nutritional values they are considered free foods. This is because Weight Watchers knows the body uses different types of food differently.
You also get 49 weekly points to use as you choose. If you would like to use them all in one sitting you can or if you want to spread them out through the week you can do that too. Also, you can choose not to eat them. Members can also earn activity points by exercising, which can be used but do not need to be.
The last piece of the Weight Watchers puzzle is whether you do it through meetings or online. If you choose to go to meetings you have the support of your leader as well as other members. However, there is also the online option where you get the program but do not have that in person support. This is completely up to you as a member but if people ask me I suggest if it is you first time on the program you should strongly consider meetings.
Okay, I think that is a good enough overview to understand what I am talking about then I discuss my days going forward. If you have questions feel free to ask!!
P.S. These are my statements and I was in no way asked to represent Weight Watchers, I just wanted everyone to understand what I would be talking about.
