It’s been two weeks since Blogfest and I am still riding high! Blogfest was so AMAZING! I don’t know if my blog post will be able to do the experience justice! But I’m going to give it a try!
I was a little concern with how it the experience of Blogfest started off when I spent 30 minutes waiting on the runway in Minneapolis. But once we were in the air the smooth sailing started! We landed in Las Vegas on time! Since I ran in to Carla of Fit BFFs. After quickly freshening up I headed over to check in to Blogfest at IDEA World. When I walked into the Las Vegas Convention Center my enthusiasm skyrocketed! I was going to have an AMAZING few days!
I went back to my room to get some sleep. It was like I was a kid the night before school starts – I was excited, I was nervous, and I couldn’t fall asleep. At some point I finally fell asleep! And then finally it was time for Blogfest! I had been counting the days to Blogfest since I had to decline the invite to the 2016 event due to my traumatic brain injury. As I walked to the convention center the excited and nervous feelings had not subsided!
The minute I walked in the room at Blogfest I felt at home! There were bloggers, influencers, hashtags, and swag! It was AMAZING! The morning kicked off with Katy Widrick talking about making old content new! I’d never thought of that! I was already learning and I was only two hours in to this amazing experience! Soon we were walking to opening ceremonies of IDEA World.
I really didn’t have expectations for opening ceremonies. But I have to say, it was hands down one of best experiences at Blogfest! I couldn’t believe how inspiring it was! I was particularly impacted by Nick Ekbatani and his story! He is a person who turned adversity into something positive! When he was talking I felt like he was talking directly to me!
After the opening ceremonies I went to the IDEA World showroom. Can you say heaven on earth? Because that is exactly what it was!!! Any fitness brand you can think of was there! I didn’t know where to start! So I just started wondering…
I came upon the Reebok booth and was asked if I box. Why, yes, I do box! Next thing I know someone is putting gloves on me! I look up and who is it? It’s Jen Widerstrom!!! I was awe struck! She was amazing! She took pictures with me and then took pictures of me boxing!!! So all the pictures and video of me boxing below are the work of Jen!
Then I happened upon High Fitness! They say aerobics is back!
If this is what aerobics looks like sign me up!
Next it was time to give Strong by Zumba a try. I expected dancing. Boy was I wrong! Strong by Zumba was AMAZING! It was a little kickboxing, squats, and a whole lot of fun! I will be finding Strong by Zumba in Minnesota!
We had a few more sessions after that and then it was back to my room. I fully intented on going to the the IDEA World Welcome Party that evening but fell asleep. I decided to sit for a minute before getting ready and next thing I knew it was 2am!
Day two started with a workout that I choose to forego. I had to fly home on the red-eye that night and didn’t want to subject the person next to me to how wonderful I would smell by that time! But I did make it to the networking breakfast where I got to meet Jorge Cruise!
Next it was the keynote speaker. Todd Durkin!!! I got to meet Drew Brees trainer!!!
Then it was on a few more sessions and finally the Blogfest Networking Happy Hour! I couldn’t believe my time at Blogfest was already coming to an end! It went way too fast!
You may have caught on to the fact that I thought Blogfest was AMAZING! I walked away with new knowledge about blogging and being an influencer. I met other amazing individual and got to met my “internet friends” in real life! Blogfest 2018 cannot come soon enough! I have already started the countdown!!!
Have you been to Blogfest? Or have you been to IDEA World? What’s your favorite conference?
