My fiancé was scheduled to travel Monday through Thursday which always means a slightly more hectic week for me. I have to work, take care of Baylee, workout, and fit everything else in (I am not complaining!). I had promised myself that this week I would start to focus on my fitness again. So I wanted to stick to that no matter how hard that would be.
Monday was a great day! I woke up to my podcast with Sam from Tips of the Scale being released. I am still amazed at the reception it got. I enjoyed recording it but I am finding even more joy hearing from the listeners! It really warms my heart to hear from everyone! But with the podcast being released my day flew by and next thing I knew it was 6pm and I hadn’t gotten anything planned done. Since I made fitness my focus, I made myself start Insanity Max: 30. Ohh…. I thought I was in decent shape, but I found myself exhausted atfter 2 minutes, but I pushed myself to 5:30 and maxed out! That night was the first time, in I really have no clue, that I slept the whole night long!
Tuesday I had every intention of going to the gym to run. The Glass Slipper Challenge is two weeks from this weekend and I hadn’t ran at all. The problem that occurred is that it started snowing on Tuesday afternoon. Well, for some reason the people that live here have no idea how to drive when it snows. (Right, we live in Minnesota, we should all know how to drive in snow, not the case.) I ended up leaving work at the time I had planned but what should have taken 10 minutes to drive took 35 minutes. I decided at that point it was better just to go home, yep, it took one hour and twenty minutes to go just over 15 miles (normally it take around 20 minutes). When I got home I was so mentally exhausted and my body physically hurt from being so tense, when I got in the house I crashed on the couch and didn’t move until I went to bed.
Wednesday was pretty uneventful. I was able to do day two of Insanity Max: 30, I decided that I would follow the modifier 100% and I didn’t max out until 8:48! I was pretty happy with that. I hoped to get to the gym to run but work got away from me so I put it off again.
Thursday was a comedy of errors! I found out that my fiancé wouldn’t be coming home due to some issues with the site he was visiting so that meant I needed to rearrange my whole day. I made the decision that I had pushed off running for far too long so I needed to go to the gym to run. However, I also knew that I had to take care of B since it would be a long day, I had an evening event I needed to attend. So let the rearranging happen… B’s daycare (yes she does go to daycare sometimes) doesn’t open until 6:30am so I couldn’t drop her off until they opened. No problem I had set my alarm early enough so I could do my workout at home, get her to daycare and myself to the gym. But it didn’t happen that way! I was not moving fast so I didn’t get my workout in and then I got her to daycare at about 6:40am. Not bad… Until I realize I forgot her collar at home! Thank goodness daycare sells collars but that took an extra 10 minutes.
I had planned on being at the gym at 6:45am and now it is 6:50am and I haven’t even left daycare. I got to the gym, dropped my stuff in a locker and got my butt on a treadmill at 7:15am. The issue was that I had a 9am meeting so I would have to cut the run short so I could shower and drive to work. I put a good effort in! I pushed myself and was extremely pleased with how I spent my 20 minutes. I grab my stuff jump in the shower, dry off, start getting dressed… Yep, I forgot my bra at home. I had to put my sweaty sports bra back on because there wasn’t time to do anything else. I finished getting ready and rushed to work for my 9am meeting. Did you figure it out yet… Yep, my meeting got cancelled as I was walking through the skyway at a million miles a minute to be there on time. First thing that went through my mind, I could have ran longer!
That evening I went to my event, picked up Baylee and had every intention of working out when I got home. But the workout didn’t happen, I made supper and crashed, I was so exhausted after that day.
Friday (today), I didn’t get much sleep last night because B was crying most of the night. I think she has an ear infection (I will know in a few hours after we go to the vet). So again, I had to rearrange my day but today is going so much better. As soon as I finish this post up, I will get my stuff together go to the gym to run, then go get B for her appointment. After her appointment we will both get frozen yogurt, since it is National Frozen Yogurt Day, and we both love it (yes, she gets her own, she’s spoiled). I will put mine in the freezer and workout, after my workout I will get to enjoy my foyo! And then B and I will wait paitently for my fiancé to get home.
Wow are you guys overwhelmed reading this? Sorry! However, I feel so much better! Thanks for listening!!!
