I love a challenge! So when a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to attend a demo of Pink Gloves Boxing, I couldn’t turn her down. Boxing is something that has always interested me but is far outside my comfort zone!
I had an amazing time! It was an awesome workout too! I sweat more than I expected and I was rather sore the next few days. So tells me that I got a great workout!
So what exactly is Pink Gloves, you ask? Per their website: “Pink Gloves Boxing is a fitness program that delivers an amazing workout and an emotionally rewarding experience to small communities of powerful women. The fitness world is overflowing with great programs, but PGB is in a class of its own. Pink Gloves is the only program that puts a great deal of focus on social and emotional growth in addition to the amazing workout. Using the core movements of competitive boxing, PGB is a non- contact program for women who want to live a healthy lifestyle. Join us in changing the way we look at the world of fitness. Pink Gloves Boxing™ (PGB) truly is a movement towards a healthier lifestyle!”
It really is a class of it own! One of the things I really liked about the program is that is has a tier system and you can work your way up the ladder of tiers. There are seven different tiers, each lasting 16 weeks. Due to that if you are interested in the program you have to be willing to make the time to attend the classes because otherwise you will not advance to the next tier. So that is something to keep in mind of you are interested in Pink Gloves Boxing.
If you are interested in joining a class you can find more information on their website. I can tell you that the Twin Cities Pink Gloves Boxing will be starting Tier 1 training next Monday (August 31st). The group will be meeting on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30pm at Balance Fitness Studio in Uptown. There is still time to join if you are interested!
I highly recommend that if you are looking for a new challenge to add to your fitness routine, you should really check out Pink Gloves Boxing! I wish I could participate in this session but due to my travel and running schedule I can’t commit now but do hope to join their next Tier 1 training!
