I am taking control of my life! When I write it out, it sound so simple! In 2016, I felt like I had no control over my life. However, this year I am going to be in control.
2016 was a difficult year, I am ready to move on from that! I was looking for ways to do that and then out of no where an amazing opportunity presented itself. In January, I met my good friend Karin from MsKarinU for coffee. We were chatting about last year and what I wanted out of this year when she mentioned she would be happy to be my life coach. A life coach had never crossed my mind but I am always open to opportunities for growth.
Karin and I discussed what my goals for 2017 are and what I want to see happen. I realized in that conversation that 2017 is the year of Missy. In 2012, I spent the year focusing on myself and when I did that everything fell into place. I felt great, my relationships were great, and I was in a great place. I think it is time to go back to place and with Karin’s help I am pretty sure I will get there.
Karin and I started by focusing on taking control of my day. I have struggled with finding a balance between my personal life and work life. I have let work dictate when I come and go, that needed to stop! Now, I am leaving work at 4pm daily (or close there to – I am finishing up what I am working on). I have been working on this since the week of January 23rd and I am happy to say it is going really well! I have not stayed longer than 4:30pm since creating this goal. When have stayed later than 4:00pm it is because I have been making good progress on work tasks and was happy to stay.
My therapist and I discussed my work with Karin and found several ways to build on it! She has me focusing on creating a routine, specifically going to bed and waking up at the same time. Soon, we will be working on creating a schedule, a flexible schedule but a schedule. I cannot believe how much more in control I feel by doing these few things.

I had no idea that Karin was the missing piece to finding balance and taking my control back. Each day I feel like I am making a little more progress and getting a closer to my goals! I feel better and in more control than I have in over a year! If you are struggling with taking control I suggest working with a life coach! It is life changing!
Have you worked with a life coach? How do you take control of your life?
