Wow! Where did the time go? It has been over a week since I last posted!
I guess that little holiday Thanksgiving was in there and I took full advantage my time off! I would love to tell you I did a lot of resting and relaxing, but that really wasn’t the case. However, I did have an enjoyable time. Here is my Thanksgiving weekend review:
My mom came on Tuesday and stayed until Sunday (dad stayed home with their pup). It was so great to spend time with her! We had a full agenda and it kept us very busy. We did have some down time on Thanksgiving Day. I made the full Thanksgiving meal – turkey, mashed potatoes, baked corned, stuffing (mom made that), gravy, and dinner rolls. Then we finished up the day by watching the Packer vs. Bears game while eating pumpkin pie. As die hard Packers fan, I can’t say that it was the best end to the day but it was a great day!
I didn’t run as much as I would have liked for the weekend, but I did get two good runs in. On Thanksgiving morning I ran the Turkey Trot St. Paul, it was a great morning for a run! There were a lot of people and a lot of great costumes! I loved seeing all the families out there enjoying the morning and being active before all the food that would come later in the day. I had a great run and it was awesome to have my mom come with to cheer me on!
When I got home, I put the Turkey in the oven and finished prepping the rest of the food. Then I grabbed Baylee and headed out to run the Run Now Gobble Later Virtual 5K. It was another great run! It was snowing big snow flakes, I love running in that kind of weather. Baylee loved it too! It was the first 5K she has been able to run the entire distance!
Wedding Dress Shopping
While my mom was here I had scheduled two appointment to go wedding dress shopping. One appointment was at a new place I hadn’t been to, I wanted to see if there was anything else I was interested in before I committed to the dress I found on my fist trip. The other appointment was at Posh Bridal, the place I had already been to and had a dress I was extremely interested in. We went to the first appointment at the new place and I didn’t really see anything that I loved. I found something that I liked but it wasn’t it. On Friday we went back to Posh so I could try the dress I fell in love with for my mom to see. When they brought the dress out, I broke into tears! Then I put it on and showed my mom, we both cried. Obviously, I knew at that time I had found my dress. So guess what? I said yes to the dress!
Christmas Tree Shopping
Somehow I got Justin to agree to a real Christmas tree this year! I have always wanted one but since getting Baylee he has been adamant we couldn’t have one. It may have something to do with the fact that Baylee uses pine trees as her own personal scratching posts. Anyhow, on Saturday we drove out to a Christmas tree farm to pick out out a tree! I had never had the opportunity to cut my own tree down before. We all had a great time finding the perfect tree. Once my mom and I were done cutting the tree down, I carried it back to the vehicle. I am not sure why Justin wasn’t part of the process but I did love the fact that I could easily carry a real Christmas tree by myself. I have put the lights on the tree but I still need to decorate it.
It was a wonderful weekend! I got to spend time with several of the people who are very important to me, I got to run two fun races, we picked out a real Christmas tree, and the best part is that I said yes to the dress! There you go that’s my Thanksgiving Weekend Review. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving weekend too!
