It has been an amazing day! In early December I had the honor to be interviewed by Sam from Tips of the Scale. Today, that interview as released (listen to it here). I received amazing feedback for that interview. I am so lucky to have so many supportive people in my life! If you would like to listen the interview you can find it here!
I had an amazing time doing the interview! And honestly, had forgot some of what we discussed because we recorded a while back. But listening to it today, there were several times I found myself smiling.
However, a lot has changed since I did the interview so I thought I would address some of the changes. I am still working towards the same goal but have changed how I am getting there. I am continuing to focus on gaining strength and muscle as well as weight loss. However, running is still really important to me and I found that the weight gain was really impacting my running so I need to focus on all of it not just one or the other. And that right there is what brought me back to Weight Watchers.I really liked calorie counting however Weight Watchers just feels more comfortable. Now, that total goes against everything I stand for. If you haven’t heard it from me before I know you will the future: If you are not challenging yourself you are not growing. But this is a time that I think being comfortable is a good thing for me.
Going into Weight Watchers this time, I have a different focus and mindset than I did the last time I was a member. The last time I was so focus on the scale and honestly, that is part of Weight Watchers. This time around I am not allowing myself to get wrapped up in the number. I am focusing on how I am feeling, what my clothes feel like, and how it is impacting my training. My clothes are already fitting better and that makes me feel better. There was a short time that I was very uncomfortable in my work dress clothes, that’s not the case anymore. In fact, I was able to wear a pair of pants to work today that I haven’t wore since April (but I am unsure when they stopped fitting because it happened over the summer while I was wearing my summer dress clothes). It was interesting because I got a complement on my “new” pants! I am not going to lie, it made my day a little bit better.
So how I am getting to my goals have changed but the goals are still the same. I’m seeing success now and if I stop seeing that I will re-evaluate again and see what is best for me at that time.
